Shift Managers

TITLE: Shift Manager

DEPARTMENT: Supervision Department

REPORTING TO: Store Manager and/or Area Supervisor

OTHER: Full Time, Nonexempt

PAY RANGE: $23-$25 per hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the daily activities and functions of their unit. They monitor daily operations, and maintains company standards on a day-to-day- basis. Responsible for the performance and functions of the unit regarding:

• Sales
• Production
• Raw material management
• Direct control of inventory discrepancies
• Direct control of money discrepancies
• Personnel management
• Training of functions by position
• Customer service
• General unit operations
• Maintains company image

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions and responsibilities of the Assistant Manager are as follows:

• Maintains control of unit’s sales (example: working with team members and portion control)
• Constant review of money (banks) in the safe deposit boxes of the unit
• Enters daily orders of unit’s sales (example: working with team members on upselling and portion control)
• Maintains proper temperatures of all hot/cold products as established by the Department of Public Health
• Knows the processes established by the company in regards to heating and preparing final products
• Maintains all finished product in excellent quality and presentation
• Ensure that team members are practicing proper portion control at all times
• Able to handle customer complaints, and deescalate situations if needed
• Trains staff on equipment used at the unit
• Performs weekly (occasionally daily) audits of inventory and merchandise. Able to identify causes of surplus and missing items/products
• Submits maintenance orders for any repairs needed at the unit
• Keeps track of fumigation schedules and completion
• Administers weekly safety topics to team members
• Able to identify team members’ capacities and needs for further training
• Assist with ensuring that procedures are being followed according to the company’s established processes
• Motivates team members and creates a positive work environment
• Knows and follows all company policies in the Employee Handbook
• Conducts employee evaluations
• Knows how to effectively execute the 5S board
• Assists with developing the weekly schedules for all team members and knows how to input schedules into Time Clock Plus (TCP)
• Knows the process of reporting and following up on safety incident

 

OCCASIONAL NEEDS

• Submits additional extra orders of raw material or warehouse orders, and able to identify the cause
• Must answer calls from alarm company at any time of the day
• In the event of a burglary or intruder in the unit outside of operational hours, the Assistant Manager must report to the unit once it is safe to do so. The Assistant Manager will report their findings to their supervisor and elaborate any documentation necessary
• Assist with special company events
• May conduct job interviews at their unit and follow up with the recruiting team

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customers
• Proficient in English and Spanish
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Able to work under pressure and meet company expectations, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service to our customers
• Able to work 6 days a week, and alternate shifts
• Able to attend monthly Manager Meetings

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Unit is equipped with ventilated air conditioning. Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures. Noise level is moderate to high. Must be able to work near or around steam.

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs. at a time
• Able to stand for 2-4 hours at a time
• Able to communicate verbally to serve our customers
• Able to scoop, kneel, stand, bend and reach over shoulder, overhead, outward
• Able to travel if needed to attend meetings or special events
• Occasional squatting and slippery floors

Assistant Managers

TITLE: Assistant Manager

DEPARTMENT: Supervision Department

REPORTING TO: Store Manager and/or Area Supervisor

OTHER: Full Time, Nonexempt

PAY RANGE: $21-$23 per hour

 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager plans, organizes, directs, and controls the daily activities and functions of their unit. They monitor daily operations, and maintain company standards on a day-to-day basis. Assist with the performance and functions of the unit regarding:

• Sales
• Production
• Raw material management
• Direct control of inventory discrepancies
• Direct control of money discrepancies
• Personnel management
• Training of functions by position
• Customer service
• General unit operations
• Maintains company image

• Can enter daily orders of raw material and weekly warehouse orders
• Maintains proper temperatures of all hot/cold products as established by the Department of Public Health
• Knows the processes established by the company in regards to heating and preparing final products
• Ensures that all team members are following proper heating and preparing procedures
• Ensure all finished product is of excellent presentation and quality
• Ensure that team members are practicing proper portion control at all times
• Able to handle customer complaints, and deescalate situations if needed
• Has had proper training of all equipment used at the unit
• Performs weekly (occasionally daily) audits of inventory and merchandise. Able to identify causes of surplus and missing items/products
• Submits maintenance orders for any repairs needed at the unit
• Responsible for keeping track of fumigation schedules and ensuring they are being completed
• Assist with administering weekly safety topics to team members
• Able to identify team members’ capacities and needs for further training
• Assist with ensuring that procedures are being followed according to the company’s established processes

• Assist with the opening and closing of a unit
• Knows how to effectively execute the 5S board

• Assists with administrative tasks (example: preparing schedules, inputting schedules, following up with employee request, inputting orders into Dynamics, responding to emails, reporting employee absences)
• Knows the process of reporting and following up on safety incident

Service Leaders

DEPARTMENT: Restaurant Operations

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time or Part-time

PAY RANGE: $19 per hour

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
King Taco requires Service Leaders to perform the following tasks. These tasks have been divided into
categories based on the type of work. However, Service Leaders may perform any of these individual tasks on any given workday:

Food Server
• Communicates order specifications to the customer
• Ensures correct assembly and presentation of food
• Correctly utilizes kitchen equipment in the assembly and preparation of food
• Properly receive, label, and store food shipments
• Greet and welcome customers in a friendly manner
• Punctual arrival times
• Maintain a clean working space

Cashier
• Take and process customers’ food orders in person and over the phone
• Take and process cash, debit card, and credit card payments, providing correct change when applicable
• Greet and welcome customers in a friendly manner
• Note any cash discrepancies for their cash register at the beginning of their shift
• Practice up-selling
• Punctual arrival times
• Maintain a clean working space

General Helper
• Maintain all interior and exterior public and non-public areas clean as per King Taco standards, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
• Keep all areas free of litter
• Greet and welcome customers in a friendly manner
• Punctual arrival times
• Maintain a clean working space

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Must have a valid Food Handler Certification – or acquire one within 30 days of hire
• Basic math and arithmetic skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to carry or lift restaurant goods/items up to 20 lbs. in weight
• Ability to perform tasks that require reaching, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, grasping, and other related movements (above head, at body level, and below waist) of up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to stay on feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work under stress for peak hours
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) to co-workers and customers in English and Spanish
• Constantly practices food safety guidelines
• Have a positive attitude
